Musican Will.i.am is the latest star to highlight the 'spin off' benefits of NASA's space technologies.

The pubilc service announcement video was released on NASA Television.

The musician talks about air purification technology used to keep farm produce fresh between source and supermarket, low cost water systems that provide clean water for communities that don't have effective sanitation and solar powered fridges that keep vaccines at the right temperature

"NASA's technologies don't just go into space," said Daniel Lockney, program executive for technology transfer at NASA Headquarters in Washington. "They work for us here on Earth, solving everyday problems -- saving lives, creating jobs and making our lives better".
