Irene Klotz is a Florida-based space reporter and science writer who covers U.S. spaceflight and commercial space for Sen.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Irene started her journalism career as a copy editor, then became a business writer at Florida Today in Brevard County, home base of the Kennedy Space Center. She covered more than 100 space shuttle missions for United Press International and Reuters.
Irene's focus is on commercial space, as well as the search for life beyond Earth, a story that has her regretting she didn’t pay better attention in Chemistry class. It does keep her eternally grateful to the geologists, biologists, technologists, engineers and others who answer her incessant questions with patience and insight.
